I hear that 3 has been fishing well and there have been a few browns taken from teh far side of 1.2 is indeed empty.
Unless it warms up you may need the Mouse.

Noramlly Barrow gets a great Buzzer hatch. I used to see them hanging like a cloud of smoke as I turned off the A38 down into Barrow Gurney on the way to work in the mornings The weather is set colder for a few days into early next week and then warming up again. You could always try a team of deep buzzers under a bung C.B

your right country boy .there were some incredible hatches on no 3 last seasonwhen it was warm+setteled weather.at times you did not know where to cast as there were so many trout moving try if you can get on the pipe in front of the hut fly in the hedge.a team of nymphs or buzzers on a floating line(best flies were pheasant tail and daibachs)on a longish leader.if its cold try a barrow mouse on a short leader/fast sink line.hope that helps.tight lines.blondie

My job took me to North West Bristol this morning and as I had 'accidently' forgotten to take my kit out of the car, I decided to drop by the Barrows for a couple of hours on the way home Well, it would have been rude not too! I decided to fish No.3 and when I got there 'stockie corner' was busy with around half a dozen anglers lined up along the wall. The wind was in their backs and they were fishing buzzers on a floating line with some success - all had at least 2 fish and most were well on their way to their limits. They also had long carbon 'match' style landing net handles to reach down the 8 or so feet necessary to net their fish froim the top of the perimiter wall. I didn't so I started further along the sbank where you could access a ledge nearer the water, nest to a water pipe. I started on a fast sinker with a small weighted tadpole and I had a fish first cast! It weighed 1-4-0 but was very welcome. The very next cast I had another! This time it was a wonderful overwintered rainbow, as silver as a 10 pence piece with a tail like a shovel. It weighed 2-4-0. That was two fish with my first two casts so I had obviously cracked it, hadn't I? ;D Er no ... Those first two pulls were my last pulls and even though I fished the floater and intermediate with buzzers etc I didn't get another sniff It was fishing well though and people in 'stockie corner' were bagging up fishing buzzers under indicators and at least 3 anglers completed their limits while I was there. Allrounder ;D

Well done Mark ;D Barrow 3 is certainly the place at the moment It's just such a pity it isn't as nice to fish as Blagdon. Then again I know I'd prefer Barrow with fish to Blagdon with blanks C.B

Well Blagdon and Chew are slow I know but the good old tanks can be guaranteed to produce when all others fail and it certainly did today I had 6 fish from "Stockie Corner" and although 4 of them were Barrow size Stockies they all appeared to be on Steroids 'cos they went like submarines ;D I had three Rainbows on small Black Buzzers fished under a bung , one of which went over 2lbs and 3 Browns on a Cat's whisker under an intermediate one going over 3lbs. It nealry ripped my hand off when it took Stockie corner and all the way up to the inlet flow (looking left from the corner) was very busy. I saw at least two limits taken and over 50 fish must have come out to 9 or 10 anglers. I was kept busy by a friendly Scotsman next to me who had turned up without a landing net and proceeded to take his limit. All of them being netted by yours truly ;D O.K so we don't all enjoy the roar of the A38 in the background or the planes coming into Lulsgate but, ctaching fish at Barrow is a damned site better than blanking at Blagdon The local 'Tanks Brigade' told me that it had been fishing like this for well over a week now and they were worried that it could switch off really soon as so many fish had been taken out. Well you can't have it both ways. If a water is fishing well than fish are bound to be taken out. Let's hope Ubley have got their replacements ready Happy 'Tank Tripping' C.B

HI Mark. I was amazed at how the Brownies snatched the Cat's Whisker. One of them really smashed into it Trout........... No3 is sheltered from a Westerly if you fish at the top of the steps as the tank appears. Anywhere to the left of that up as far as the iron ladder was producing today. Let me know if you're going on Saturday and I'll give you some more ideas C.B
