Andy. It's very bright today and quite warm. It was a Struggle to add one tothe total. As always a day out with Robin Haywood was a gas ,great company ,good gossip . Massive hatches of buzzer ,red, olive , bright green, small blacks ,and probably others .early part of the day was near flat calm .In this flat calm and huge nimber of trapped food items I would have expected there to be a large number of rising fish in the overcast light ,the rises were very limmited almost as if the lake was very understocked My only fish a 3.1 lber came to a shipmans cast to him after he had shown several times in an area of near flat calm towards the dam ,good fish went well but on spooning a few shucks and one small blck buzzer . there was a welsh Eliminator match on and they seemed to be struggling as well ,doubt there was a limit bag from the lake all day ! Hope you did well ;D Let us know C.B

Blimey Andy It's not sounding good for Chew I honestly don't know what's going on There is no doubt that the stocking levels has been maintained, especially as this is Chew Half Centenary. I think a little trip to Woodford Lodge and a word with our friendly Fisheries manager Bob Handford is in order. Glad you enjoyed your day though C.B

Andy. I fish Blagdon a lot more than Chew but sadly it doesn't seem to be much better at the moment It's strange because when I looked back at last years catch returns for Late April early May they weren't actually that much better One Blagdon regular attributes the poor fishing to the fact that there is an overabundance of food in the lake at the moment whilst the official line from Bristol Water is blaming it on persistently low water temperatures and cold winds I'm starting to wonder what it's all about Anyway as I said glad you enjoyed your day C.B

There was certainly an abundance of buzzer yesterday ,motoring out in the morning was a revalation ,been along time since Robin or I have seen so much fly on the water ,reminded us of the early days of grafham ! If they are right you will be seeing some stonking fish later in the year . Will be back for a day in september !

The fish at Blagdon seem to be on the Daphnia so make sure you've got some Blobs aboard C.B
