Out with two clients today they accounted for 9 Grayling and 5 Brown Trout on size 20 lime green 'F' flies.....PM they wanted to learn to bug and in the process of doing this....Salar...got hold of the bug and ran one of them a merrydance round the pool on a five weight, before somersaulting into the fast water and parting company with the barbless hook...its was a fresh fish of about 8lb.

Fished Longreach today with Bugsy, It was like being on the Liffey fish rising everywhere. ;D Getting them to take was another matter, had one and moved one to a huge klink I was using as a sight indicator, got 3 and missed 5 to a #22 shuttlecock, moved one to an aphid-missed it and got another on a #16 klink. Best fish for me was a 12" brownie. ;D Very enjoyable day, thanks Bugsy. ;D

Well I hate to say I absolutely, well and truly feckin told you so BUT..........First Salmon caught yesterday, yes that's right yesterday - the glorious 12th ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D Taylors Pool on the Berwyn Arms stretch........told you Anyway, I managed 9 today 'Jadders' but it was tough as Tango'll tell you. However, I can honestly say that I have never seen so many rising fish as I saw in a 5 minute frenzy today........truly unbelievable. They were feeding on aphids and were in water of 1 - 2 ft. I've fished the Dee since I can remember, but I've never witnessed anything remotely like it. Great day.............thanks Tango. Anyway, did I tell you about the first Salmon of the season........? ;D ;D Bugsy

Mmmm Spy 1 the 'chancer' aye The 'Usk' is a beautiful river and carries a nice head of wild brown trout. I managed six on Saturday , they were not easy, I saw Mayflies / Yellow May Dun / March Brown / Aphids / Chironomids / Olives, a right mixture on the water. I had one on an 'Olive' three on 'aphids' size 22 and two on a nymph infront of a dry. The fish were in superb condition and were between 12 oz and 1lb. Really enjoyed myself, here is one of them..... Spy1

Salmon being caught is great news, and with brownies feeding madly, it looks like the rivers are really coming to life! But to catch brownies on a size 22 or 24.......... s**t - even the fish will need glasses and I'd have to use binoculers to see the fly I was away over the weekend at a Fishy Conference, and then on Monday morning had a problem with my computer making a horrendous noise A good hovering of the fan, seems to have done the trick! ;D I'll try and keep in touch this week! I hope to get out fishing on either Friday or Saturday, and it would be nice to meet up if anyone's interested ?

I have taken the liberty of starting a "Dee" thread on the new forum, I've got the first 57 pages of this one saved but thought it better to only put the first post by madcaster up. See you all in the new place.
