I dont know m8, there is a lot of what if's the way it is there are a few that really should not be in the final and there are a few that have every right to get admission to the final.
Beleive it or not the Loch is fishing well, I agree the boats sitting there are a waste and should have at least been left in the water so as not to rot, but is Sir David water and no one else's and he is doing what he wants or thinks is right. we will have to sit and wait and see what happens
Cheers
Dave

Results are posted on the SANA website at www.sana.org.uk/Competitions%20Results.htmPresumably the comment about the cut off weight was for qualification to the International squads for next years' matches in Ireland and Wales. Marble

No problem Jim, some of us have been round this particular course before!
Congratulations on your qualification.
Can you give us any details on how it fished on the day? It seemed from my home in Perthshire to be little or no wind, cold and lots of rain.
The result looks as if it was quite hard fishing. but all credit to Alastair Mair who has produced some notable catches over the last 2 seasons from various waters throughout the country. I read in today's paper that he hooked his top dropper fly in his rod tip whilst playing the 4 1/2 lb brownie, and that double champion Davy Malcolm netted it as boatman. Paper did not say if any kisses were exchanged thereafter!

Lo all,
Well done to Mr Mair on winning, everyone is talking about this and I for one was not best please with it either. Mr Mair is not to blame he was only doing what was offered to him by the SANA commitee which was wrong. The playing field was not level as on some water's you can bag up and on other water's it is not possible to bag up, so different rules. This is not the place for a debate on the matter, but expect a huge backlash before the AGM as it has done people out of places who rightfully should have been there.
Well done to all,
Dave

hopefully the rules will change at hte AGM so that they are consistent right through next years competition.... SANA being consistent and fair? Now that would be really something! p.s. I hope none of the committee will be allowed out to fish and compete in a national qualifier in a boat by themselves again....

Hi Marble The loch fished difficult as was expected, wind 15- 20 mph with the rain just to make things worse.80% of the boats headed for the black wood _ prap area with the others spread out back along the north shore towards north bouy. Speaking to some of the boys afterwards and methods seem to vary from di5-6 pulling sparklers to fast glass and snatchers and other small traditionals. Most if not all of the fish were caught in shallow water 4-6 feet.
