The wind was not doing what it was meant to be doing this morning. It was a westerly and coming in at an angle to the north shore, so i think thats a south westerly One man had had one fish on a buzzer at ash trees. I decided to fish the bay just up from him. (about 11.30)am He took two more fish on a black beaded lure on an intermediate, whilst i didn't get a pull. I tried the pegs end of ash trees but again failed to get a pull I then tried pegs. If you wade out a little way, there is a nice stump to stand on that puts you in a good high casting position. I had a few casts of pegs before i got the first pull of the day, it resulted in a small rainbow of about 1.12 this took a [glow=red,2,300]BLOB ;D [/glow] I had a few more casts with no joy so packed it in at 3.30pm. The fish was STUFFED full of clear bloodworm and a few green things. And when i say stuffed, i mean STUFFED. I scooped it 3 times, and on every time my spoon was overflowing with them. Most of them were still alive. I think something like a size 14 slim olive buzzer with a black head would match it fairly well, even though they were smaller........ Trout

Just read it C.B, i think if the wind drops, we could be in for some excellent fishing.
On sunny and calmish days the rises have been fairly good, but when its windy. Nothing seems to be happening.

I must have just missed you, Trout! I fished Wood Bay for an hour or so this afternoon then had a few casts at Pegs but it was blowing a gale so I decided to head back to Chew. Never had a pull at Blankdon, but a sypathetic Jack Pike spared my blushes at Chew. Allrounder ;D

The wind is blowing strait in to the north shore.
I popped along to pegs and there was a good rise, i must have seen 10-15 fish rise in about 3mins. Not a huge amount but it means they are there. I only had my sinker, one fish had a snach at my blob as it hit the water. i reckon if i had a floater i would have had a bit more action, as the fish were in the top ft of waer i am sure.
There it an easterly wind set for friday............But im off to barrows at 4. and shal be fishing till about 7ish !
Roll on the weekend!

One guy had a 6 lber from Ash Trees. . Well I didn't have a 6pounder from Ash Trees today but I did have 3 nice 2lb+ Rainbows ;D Popped down for a short three hour session this morning and fished from 8.00 - 11.00. Nothing for the first hour despite the conditions being perfect. Warm with a good left to right ripple. At 9.00 it seemed as if the fish switched on. Took one on the point fly of a long 15ft:+ leader Small red Holo cheeked Diawl Bach. I then had two more before 10.00 when they just switched off. To be fair I should have had more as I was having one of those days when everything was tangling and I must have spent half that hour sat on the bench tying new leaders All 3 fish came to the point fly though so they must have been lying quite deep. A quick chat to of few of the local season permits quickly revealed a very dicontent mob With comments like: " This is the worst season I can ever remember" and : "Six of us fished six hours all along the South Shore yesterday without a pull". As far as I'm concerned it's still a total mystery as to why Chew and Blagdon have been so poor this year and it will probably stay that way C.B

I'd have expected my double limit by 8.15am at the very least. Sorry CB - I could'nt resist it! ;D ;D ;D Allrounder ;D

I tried fishing dries, and didnt have a fish, still lots rising in the evening......
It was a quiet day for most people i think.

Fished Peg's this morning from 7.20 - 10. 30. Considered myself quite lucky to take 2 nice fish both well over 2 lb's. First came to a Green Ribbed Diawl Bach on the middle dropper and the second to a sz10 black buzzer. Another guy on Peg's with me also had one before he moved off down the North Shore. Apparently he had been doing quite well last week at Chew and had 2 limits form the North Shore. It was very quiet this morning with only 2 boats out by the time I left at 11.00 They were both fishing into Orchard Bay. Ah well. back to the tanks tomorrow ;D C.B

Well done C.B, Glad to here there are still some fish to be caught! I popped down at about 8 and lost a fish on a white marabou goldhead lure, fished on a floater. The fish didnt hit te lure very hard, and i didn't strike, so the fight only lasted 10 seconds before the hook pulled Its tail come clear of the water and it loked pretty bit...................
