Blue sky, blue sea, a few fish, shops, and women. What more do you want ;D I'd settle for 'a few fish' at the moment, Trout. Had a few hours again tonignt at Chew from 6.30pm to 8.30pm with a floating line and nymphs but no joy I'm afraid. I gave the North Shore a go for half an hour despite the wind not being right but decided to move when it picked up in strength as it became uncomfortably cold. Tried the other side of the Dam on the Walley Bank where the wind was more or less in my back. Here at least I saw a fish move and even managed to get a couple of half hearted plucks on a Diawl Bach but I failed to tighten into it in time. A point to note for anyone thinking of visiting is that the water is absolutely gin clear at the moment. Packed in at 8.30pm with freezing hands. I think it will be Blagdon next time Allrounder ;D

There were a few boats out in a minor RAF competition today. Top 2 bags were 5 fish each - mini lures of different colours took fish and a few were caught on boobies and a few on buzzers. Not sure of exact totals, but probably 25 fish among 14 (ish) of us. Boy, did it blow! The waves were big, too. The radox was good tonight!!

yesterday was the closest I have ever come to capsizing on a boat. Both of us had to throw ourselves forward at the same time Managed 2 fish along Woodford Bank ( sheltered from the wind ish). One came to a PTN the other came to my pink buzzer cunningly disguised as a blob ;D ;D. Both were on a fast glass line. Water clarity is good as well. We actually saw three fish on the top .

I'm surprised they let the boats out on Chew yesterday It was pretty rough at Blagdon and that's always more sheltered Still at least you caught C.B

What a difference 48 hours can make! On Thursday it was windy, cold and 'orrible yet today the weather was as nice as you could reasonably expect in April and so although I wasn't planning to fish today, I just had to go again! The wind was just right for the North Shore but when I arrived at 2.00pm it was very busy so I decided to give Nunnery a go. I gave it 30 mins or so by the middle car park on the natural bank but the wind was a bit tricky so I decided to Herons Green Bay. When I arrived there was one other angler setting off from the car park who turned out to be Flyinthehedge from this Forum! We had the bank to ourselves but despite the reasonable weather things were extremely slow, although FintH had a pull first cast on a nymph. I started on a nymph but soon had enough of that nonsense so out came the fast sinker and the boobies! ;D After about 40 mins or so I was just moaning to FitH that I hadn't had a sniff of a pull when a fish begged to differ and cut me off mid sentence! After a pugnacious fight a 2-3-0 rainbow was in the net. Things then went quiet for another half an hour or so and unbelievably the same thing happened again just as I was moaning that I hadn't had any more pulls, only this time I missed it. FitH lost a fish on a nymph and just as things might have got interesting the wind inexplicably turned so that it wa blowing directly on to the shore. We both fished on to dusk but had no more luck although the odd occasional fish rose during the last half hour. This was the first really decent days weather we have had since the season started so lets hope for a few more! Allrounder ;D
