The Royal Marines and other UK forces use Avon SSS. Its been a long time in the know amongst the folks in green.
Many a mountain and road cyclist use the stuff as well - with all that exposed skin a cyclist would surely know what works!!
Nothing worse than stopping on the bike after a 60 mile lung buster and then being eaten alive by the midge!! Seriously there's nothing worse!!

Sorry not true normally have a pipe clenched betwwen my teeth ,I need either Crocodile /autann/jungle formula .
The Uist midges chewed pipe smokers StanHeadley and myself to peices some years ago .

Always relied on jungle formula,liquid in my shower gel and the pump spray for exposed areas...the shower gel puts it into every crevice (imagine a bite there).....;-)
