12lb Drennan Double Strength - the green not the brown makes a nice one for my salty exploits. I'm going to buck the trend now.....Thanks Giles!!!! First f*g Ash Lil and now the Singapore Leader.....I'll buy you a pint when I see you again.

Just had a go now and it really is a piece of p***
I would be interested to hear of peoples fishing experiences using these singapereon leaders, how do they perform out in the field as the saying goes? Has anyone had one unfurl on them for example?
They really do look the part, i have actually gotten myself quite excited over this new discovery, i will need to go and stick the kettle on, calm myself down a little ;D

Fully agree with G.
Knocked some up last night using various lines. They all look good.
Toying with the idea of making some up using trace wire for piking. Any thoughts? ;D

I use them most of the time and they haven't let me down yet. Turnover is good, even into a wind. I've a lot of confidence in them.
Especially good on small streams and brooks where turnover is essential.

I'm a tad concerned about the hinging effect created by the overhand knot when finishing of the completed leader. I have tried different leader materials but i'm getting a similar kink each time. Anyone else experiencing the same thing?
I dont think its going to effect the turnover to much, but perhaps it will effect accuracy a little?

P.S has anyone tried this with thread yet? If so is it effective. What type & thickness of thread would be good for this?

The overhand knot is only used to hold the loose ends together while you complete the twisting of the quadrupled portion. When that's done, you tie off with a figure of 8 knot, which is almost straight through, and trim off the tag end in which the overhand knot is tied.

For security I also add a tiny drop of superglue to the fig8 knot. ;D

Ok, once the first twisting is completed i tie of with an overhand knot. I then fold it 3/4 of the way and start twisting again, thus, creating a loop in the thick end of the leader (now i have a loop either end). When the twisting is finished on the thick section i should now tie of with a figure of eight knot, but i dont see how because this knot creates a loop where the figure of eight does not? Man i'm confused

I'm a bit confused by your method.
Once the leader is twisted, folded and twisted again, you should have a loop at either end and a "loose end" approx 1 third the way down the leader.
On the thickest part of the leader, very near to where this "loose end" is, you tie a figure 8 knot. Then you trim off the "loose end".
The end result should be:
Loop at 1 end, then 4 twisted strands of leader, then a figure 8 knot, then 2 twisted strands of leader, then a loop.
If it would help, I'll gladly send you a couple so you can see the end result as it may help. Let me know.

Yep, definitely you Rich. Only takes me 5 mins max, slightly more if I'm doing an 8/4/2 leader.
It's all in the digital dexterity as Paul Daniels used to say.
