I'd disagree slightly. You need to leave a little room for air to circulate and allow moisture to escape. Also if you get the boots too tight it makes wading amongst rocks very uncomfortable because the toes are jammed up against the ends of the boots. Bumping your toes is inevitable and you'll be really sore if your boots are too tight. Best to leave a little room. Always try them on if you can.
The wading at Little Blackhall is not too bad, apart from the top bit on the Little Blackhall side which is a bit rocky. You can actually fish the whole lot in wellies if your casting is good.

Yes, in colder water go for a looser fitting boot. If the fit is too tight it will cut down on the circulation and your feet will feel very cold. During the spring I wear boots one size bigger than during the summer months. The wading at Little Blackhall can be on the rough side if you have lower water levels, then the fish tend to lie nearer the Inchmarlo bank. You need to wade fairly deep and there are quite a few large stones waiting to trip you up. In higher water levels you can fish off the bank as the fish move over to the Blackhall side. There should be no need to wade on the Inchmarlo bank.

Each to there own then, but in commercial diving the rule of thumb you're taught is that the snugger the suit the warmer you are (obviously not to the point of uncomfortable).

PS Know any good speach writers or " wedding Jokes " Advise your daughters that the first night of marriage is a bit like a snowstorm. She will know what is coming but just not sure how many inches. It probably worked 40 years ago......

We have one rod left for 20th, 21st, and 22nd February, but unfortunately with no accomodation.
Would any of the Scottish anglers like to come and join us?
The price will obviously be reduced from the £100 a day rate.
Mick and myself will be there along with 3 other forums members.
PM me if you're interested.
Cheers
T.P.

Brian Waddingtons in various sizes and one-two inch copper tubes should suffice. I will have a couple of thousand flies in any case Cheers Mick
PS. The trip is now full

Thanks for a great three days, Mick & Jo - I didn't know it was possible for any human being to drink like a fish. I thought I'd post a picture of the fish pie made from my 15lb Dee springer. Yummy - much better than the picture. I also caught a brace of kelts which was jolly exciting.
