Wel thats this season wound up ,I have enjoyed every one ,great company a few first grayling ,more than a few rainbows sadly not many browns ,strangely didnt see any spawning this year ,think they headed further upstream as did witness nearly adozen heading purposefully in a upstream direction .The pike in the river has wetted my attention ,actualyy fished deliberately for them this weekend just gone ,no joy but an angry bow grabbed a big white megazonker . the company was great ,some old lags and some new ,special mention must go to the ladies Julia,T.P.Martha (am I allowed to mention Martha) and Rosie .all are welcome back . special credit this year must go to Ashby's of Smithfeild who have supplied me with some stonking Sirloins for the lunch time BBQ ,a new discovery for me ,thier meat has been superb !!

SWMBO makes a lovely lemon cheesecake - I'm sure she'd be delighted to prepare one for such a worthy band
