Sunday just gone was a good one great company ,mainly jet setters (thats wandle trolley draggers ) but from the forum Charlie H ,Sewin lad,and a star in the firmament TP ,who is superb company and a damm good angler shame about all the bling on her waistcoat ! Cothis boy done good catching a good number on copper johns stolen from the good gardener ,Jo (TP) caught her first ever grayling ,my boy lost three flys (someone please teach the l----le B--- to cast (beyond my abilities/patience)Richard baker tempted a pike on a clouser and had a fair bag of the lady of the stream ,after lunch I even had a few on some tiny drys tied by the Gentle giant Geordie (hard enough to tie on let alone dress) the water is very low at the moment ,so the fish are rather spooky ,small nymphs and fine leaders are the order of the day . I beleive there may be some photos come on put them up !! ;D

Pike? ;D Best bring the #9, as well as the #3 and # 5 then! ;D
Looks like there may be a bit more water about come this weekend... though I imagine runoff effects will be small on the Kennet - take a few months for percolation to the aquifer to take effect eh?

Kev if it really pours it can come up a bit ,but in over 20 years ive only ever seen one part of it coloured and thats near the bottom of the beat . think it may come up an inch or so but that nothong two years ago there were bits that wellingtons couldnt cope with .

Well it really did pour. Those amongst us with cr@ppy waterproofs suffered a bit - but it was still worth it. Great to see Andy again - great food and craic as always. Also nice to meet a few more guys from the boards. Jon (Pond123) and I wandered the carriers decorating the countryside for the impending festive season, but managed a few trout and grayling along the way. Attached is a snap on my phone of a clonking 4lb brownie taken at the top of the beat on a GH nymph. Cheers Bri

Yes there are more than a few good wild appearing browns too see most cruising with purpose up stream Think they will be spawning shortly ,Time for egg flys for the grayling On another note am getting a feeling that a boxing day and NYday meet might get reasonable support please indicate interest via PM ,if you want to shed those seasomal cobwebs on either day ,Have already penciled them in with the owner Those two days are both great for travel the roads tend to be very quiet !

Not a Londoner but live N. Kent/ N.Sussex borders. Am quite interested in the day out on 20 Nov, sounds like good fun and a bit of fishing thrown in. Do I have to be proposed, propositioned or what? Costs please etc.

Had another great day Grayling fishing on Sunday. Thanks again Andy.
I'm progressing well and managed to decorate far fewer trees this time round and catch some more fish. Great watching 3 pike basking in the sun in 18" of water - they were spectacular.
T.P.
P.S. Also can't beat fishing from frost covered banks, it's just so pretty.
