Anyone got the pattern for a Hares Ear or Olive snatcher and any idea when it's best and what technique to use when fishing them?
Thanks in advance for any info.

I'll add to that a little. Anyone got any good Snatcher patterns. The ones I am tying are all variants of known flies Kate McLaren, Doobry etc.

It depends where you are ,they are normally fished fairly slow on a floater or inter mediate line but loch leven can be a different thing all together where you can catch stipping on a d15 or worse. one of my favourites is blue pearl body, silver wire rib, black palmer, jc cheeks, yellow blaze dubbed at the head. I fish them with a slow jerky retrieve normally 3 to a cast 6 ft apart on a floating line, to achieve depth i increase the breaking strain of the fluorocarbon (believe me it works). I seem to have most success in shallow water when there is a breeze. The Kate McLaren snatcher seems to do well for me on the middle dropper as does the one listed below which i use on the point. (last week it caught me a record 21 fish in a four hour period(i know i still cant beleive my luck)):-
Hook:- Kamasan 10 or 12 B100 Thread :- UTC Black 140 Butt:- Glo-Bright No 12 Hackle :- Genetic black hen palmered from the butt to the head(Don't over do it 4 or 5 turns is enough) Rid:- Pearl medium (4 turns) Head:-Black Indian hen with 2 sunburst goose biots tied in last.
Hope this helps.

but how do you fish them, fast, slow, floater sinker etc - On a floater, just as you would fish a buzzer. Nice and slow.

Forgive my ignorance but what is a Snatcher? A snatcher is a style of fly. Basically a palmered wet fly tied on a curved hook. Generally you get rid of any tail, replacing it with a tag. I am pretty sure that the originals had a small head of Lite-Brite type material, but that seems to have been dropped from the pattern I have seen.
