Could anyone recomment any spent mayfly gnat patterns for Corrib. thanks

try this one
size 10-12 kamasan b160
thread - yellow
tail 3 strands of black bucktail or deer hair
body - light cahill fine dry fly dubbing
rib - brown thread or flexi floss
wings. natural cdc tied spent style each side being slightly longer thna the hook
or try
Hook size 8 up eyed dry
thread - black
tail - 3 cock hackle fibres or pheasant tail fibers tied long
rear hackle - black cock (small hackle tied right at the tail)
body - white floss
rib - black thread
wings - black hackle tips tied spent style
hackle - short grizzle few turns before the wing then few turns in front of it
Also a bright red Humpy is said to be good as a spent mayfly

If you can get to any of the tackle shops around the corrib you should be able to pick up Frankie Mcphillips spent gnat, it's a good fly and there well tied.

I'm off to L.Derg on the 12th for 3 days ,like H.S i'm up to my cajones in trying to finish a contract by fri, but will give those tyings a go ,thanks WP CORKY

richard they should be easy enough to tie. make sure they are real sparse though. the secret is a long spent wing and vary the body colour. thats basically it.
the deerstalker is another one
size 10 longshank
tail - long pheasant tail fibres
rib black thread +silver wire
body white deer hair ( tied in just before the thorax then secured in place with black thread and silver wire rib
thorax black cock hackle throax clipped short
wing very log fibred broxn cock hackle clipped to the spent shape.
the deer hair body makes this one sit real nice in the water.
Rod Tye is your man for these and you might be able to get them at corrib
