Hello all, I am off to Ireland shortly to a motorcycle rally and will be staying on afterwards for a bit of flyfishing both in the salt and freshwater, now the saltwater stuff is sorted as I have a good 4 piece 9 weight saltwater rod, but I am unsure about the rivers etc,I have loads of rods from 4 to 7 weight but they are all 2 piece. I have been looking at a orvis clearwater 865-4/ 8'6" 4 piece 5 weight with a midflex 9.5 action which looks like it would fit the bill, has any one had any experience with this rod [good or bad] could you let me know your findings.
many thanks Steve

Be careful, some Ovis rods are extremely floppy - you'll have to try it out.

thank you for your reply paul, have you any advice or can you recomend any other 5 weight 8'6" or 9' it has to be a 4 piece so as I can pack it on my bike. I have a 4 peice fulling mill 8 weight which I am very pleased with ,but tried a 5 and found it to be very soft.

The Winston 8' 9" 5 piece is a delight. Try Foxons or Sportfish, there is a better chance of a deal at Foxons.
