Hi ive just had another day in my float tube and another in a boat at Chew and both days were peeing down,My question is that on both occasions i ended up with a soggy bum and wonderd if the breathable fabrics allowed transmission of water through them if u sat on them for a while?

In my experience it would seem that all breathables, whether waders or overtrousers are prone to this phenomenon.  Never had any probs with neo's though. ;D |

you may have noticed that a lot of the fishing trousers have rubberised backsides .i am reliable informed that this is because breathable materials can't take the pressure of sitting in a puddle with a large weight upon it.  jim |

You really should use neoprene when tubing.........they keep you warm and dry. I wouldn't consider anything else when i tube! I use the Vision 5mm they're great!

I have neo and breathables and as in most members of the BFTA (float tube association) prefer the looseness of breathables but was surprised that my scierras(which do have neoprene in the backside for lardys-thanks 3lb ) leaked as much as they did but Chew was very wet with 4 ft waves crashing over us...thanks for the answers tho lads...
