Ordered some stuff from GAC last week. Still waiting. Taking them 2 weeks to dispatch! They're busy!
Ordered some fly tying materials from the US. Expected to wait a bit but they arrived today - 5 working days.
Ordered materials from Lakeland last week - arrived 1 working day.
You'd have thought a big shop like GAC with a large mail order base would do better.

Did they advise you that your order would take two weeks to ship when you placed it? If not, i'd cancel and go elsewhere. If they are simply out of stock, then it may not be their fault.

Nothing unusual for them, i ordered a rod and reel, i waited and waited then emailed them, nothing, so i phoned after a week and was told the items wernt in stock and would take at least 2 weeks before they were, so i cancelled the order, wont touch them with a barge pole now.

Mmmm, i dealt with a fellow called Gary when i ordered from them. Very efficient and quick delivery. Having said that, i still think Sportfish are THE mail order company. Grommit at game and fishing is a good bet too, fast service and competitive pricing. Sportfish are fast on the delivery, but not the discount.

I have said it before but it is not surprising that the same names keep cropping up for poor online service. If people voted with their wallets these mail order shops that generally do not do a good service would surely wonder way. It is said that GAC & I will name that one, but there are others monitor these forums, so why do they allow themselves to be the brunt of so many negative comments. If I was the manager/proprietor I would be really worried & would certainly do something about it. On a board recommendation I have ordered a few bits & bobs from FMTC, had a confirmation that they have received my order but to date nothing has come. About a week now. Not service at it's best so far. Even the good ones can let people down now & again but you will get far more positive than negative using the likes of Sportsfish & John Norris. Tight Lines

I found the staff at Glasgow Angling Centre to be first class when visiting, mail order 7/10.
SPORTFISH Ordered waders and a packet of gold cones from SPORTFISH and received the cones only, postage charge and card receipt together with confirmation that the waders which had shown on the website in stock and had been confirmed as an order were not in stock and the offer would not be honoured.
Great so I now own the most expensive coneheads in the world !!!!!!!
2/10 and a customer complaint form I think.
Nonetheless one of the best suppliers.
M
Addendum - Sportfish sorted this all out with a call and credited my account with postage and £5 voucher value - so 2 going on 9 out of 10.
