Can't really comment on GAC's online service as I have not used them. This is mainly down to the fact that I live just along the M8 Motorway. What I can comment on is the customer service instore. This is very good indeed. I have spent literally thousands on fly and Pike tackle in Mr Devlins shops and always get great service and advice on products. I know this is of little consolation to those of you who have been let down by their mail order service but I felt it would be good to give an indication of their instore customer service values. And I got a free hat with my GL3 ;D Only gripe with GAC is their telephone enquiry service - I recently 'phoned up and enquired about the retail price on a Hardy Angel and was advised, with a Little Britain style response... computer says no! No Hardy Angel on the product list! Bizarre! Dougie

I did say that a phonecall "from" the place you buy from would/should be adequate..I didnt say that a customer should ring and check stock levels, maybe you misread my post. Apologies troutline, I'd read it the other way round and initiated rant mode

Like Dougie i drop into the store, probably once a week to stock up on tying material that i don't really need. The staff are very helpful and knowledgeable. I have ordered on line and it was a joke, weeks to arrive , wrong stuff, bits missing etc. A wee tip, if you go in and chat to the sales staff long enough you might just get a free gift or a discount on that new rod!

Used them all and FMTC and GAC were ok but took a long time over delivery and i had to pester both to get back order items. Still they did arrive. GAC do give good freebie deals i ahve to admit, last order free stillwater wader jacket and scierra reel case! Not bad!
Spiortfish are good and they were able to deliver all items the next day and it was well packaged! My only gripe with them is the 'guaranteed' next day delivery which attracts a premium charge. This is only applicable on a friday for saturday delivery if your royal mail van goes out on a saturday morning! Some dont apparently! At least this is what i was told by sportfish. I fail to see how they can offer and charge for a 'guaranteed next day delivery' if they cant deliver on that promise regardless of the reason! Needless to say my stuff did arrive next day saturday but i was slightly peturbed by what borders on misrepresentation to me!
