I have just purchased some Coachwips with the sandstone lenses from an internet company mentioned in the previous post on Bolle`s. Now these were a good price at £30 but to be honest I am not that impressed with their optical clarity. This may well be down to me because I am that age where I could really do with prescription lenses but compared to, dare I say it my Airflow pp wraparounds, or just not wearing any glasses, these new Bolle`s definately blur things. I am wondering if they are definately genuine as taggarc mentions he had a manual with his and although they came in a bolle box there was no manual. Interestingly if you look at the lenses and catch the light right, a pattern with a cross can be seen in the middle of the lens. Does anyone know if you can get Bolle`s with prescription lenses? John Horsey used to do them but he finished this side some time ago. .........Ian Im quite suprised you are not impressed with them Ian, I have had a pair of coachwhips for 2 years now and i couldnt be without them. Infact i lost them over the weekend, and wondered how i would go fishing without them, until i found them in the sleeve of my jacket! I was spinning for Bass last summer and for every fish i spotted i removed my glasses to see if there was much difference, and i can confirm that almost every fish would not have been spotted without them . The only difference between our purchases is that mine cost nearer £90, (in duty free ) so its either something to to with the lense quality, or i have not yet owned a pair of really good polaroids to compare mine with. PS I cant remember if mine came with a manual, but they definately had a box, a bolle neoprene pouch and a bolle "rag" to clean them with.

I use "Cocoons" for fishing...they go over my specs a treat.
However, I do have a pair of Bolle Glacier Snow Glasses and they are absolutely superb.....I'm sure any Bolles must be equally good.

I keep looking at Bolles! But isn't their a big difference in how good the lenses are between the different lenses across their range?

I agree with moustique. I think the very different performance experienced by the different individuals is exactly down to the lenses in the glasses.
Most, if not all of the people, who are unhappy with the performance of their glasses have bought them from the Internet, which has a wide variety of lenses on offer. From my experience of trying to buy Bolles through various sources on the Internet these probably don't have, albeit they could look very similar to, the sandstone lenses which come with the glasses sold through tackle shops and that have been reviewed so highly by the various fishing mags.
Anyway, as soon as I get down to the Post Office I will have both. The new ones which I have ordered through the net, with polarised INX lenses, and the pair which I believe to have sandstone lenses bought from a tackle shop. When I am on the Dove this weekend I will put both to the test and let you know what the outcome is. I'd be happy for both to work equally well as I will have found myself an excellent source of replacement glasses for circa 30 pounds!!

As I said previously I am sure that mine have sandstone lenses and were bought from a reputable dealer. Which lenses in ther bolle range might they be geting mixed up with? How many lens options are there in the boomslangs? Are there other ones in the range which are more robust? Maybe I was just very lucky to find a good pair of polaroids for a tenner for my last pair! Cheers, S
