I hope the staff are better in this shop than the Orvis shop in Northumberland.
I rang them to enquire about whether they had a vest in stock to which the lady replied she would get "the fishing man" to phone me back. I am still waiting for the call and that was 3 weeks ago!

RichardW, What's the script re the Peacock water on the Wye - I assume booking is required? If so, how far in advance and what's the price? A few years ago, I worked in Rowsley (we built that 'Peak Village' abortion behind the Grouse) and I always meant to have a go on the Wye but was always too busy - although I did have a late night dip or two behind the cricket pitch in Bakewell ! I got the impression the water was dry fly only - is this still the case? Cheers (and here's to those Bakewell 'tarts'!), Matt

The rules are very simple: 12 Anglers maximum per day Single Dry Fly only (no emergers) No wading C&R except in the put & take section near Rowsley. Right now you need not book ages in advance. High season (mid-May to 3rd Week in June) you need to book a long time in advance. www.thepeacockatrowsley.co.uk has all the contact details etc. Have fun. richard
