Here's one for anyone new to tying, very easy to make and effective. Hook: Hayabusa 384 (Size 12) Body: Black thread (7/0) Rib: UTC Ultra Wire (Chartreuse, Hot Orange, Red, Silver or Gold) Head: As Rib 1. Attach thread. 2. Tie in 4cm section of UTC ultra wire. 3. Take thread back to the eye of the hook, and tie off at this point. 4. wind the UTC ultra wire back up the body to form the rib, followed by 6-7 close turns to form the head. Give the UTC wire a sharp tug at the head and it will neatly snap. 5. Add a drop of superglue to secure the head, Once the superglue has dried, give the entire fly a coat of varnish. 6. Also available in red, although silver, orange and gold can be very effective. Regards, Terry

If you tie them short & skinny (as above) they are lighter than an epoxy/super glue buzzer and make the perfect dropper flies. I've been fishing a black/green one middle dropper and cream/copper one on the top dropper lately.
Easily tie them in under 30 seconds, which is why I'm starting to favour them over the epoxy/spanflex type.

What size wire Terry? Barassie or small are listed on lakeland, which do you use?

BB,
There's not much difference between the two sizes, I've used both for buzzers.
If you are buying just for the buzzers then I would get the Brassie size. If you are also planning on using it to rib flies (I use it to rib Diawl Bachs) then I would probably go for the Small size.
Regards, Terry.
