Evening All,
Seem to have developed a problem with my casting, on the forward cast the line appears all - wiggly - and when it lands the line seems to land fine but me leader either lands to the side of the line or behind the line(closer to me). This usually means that I end up pulling back 12ft+ of line just to straighten the leader.
Can anyone offer some suggestions please?
Thanks
Matt

You could be gripping the rod too tight, or stopping to sharply. That can cause wiggles in the line.
The fly lying behind the line would suggest you are not letting the loop unfold properly.
Try stopping the rod a bit higher to allow the line to unfurl completely.

further to that ensure the rod tip travels in a straight path during casting ie do not deviate from a straight back straight forward cast.

When the good woman/man grabs your gear stick and gets a little carried away... you scream 'christ woman/man grip the bloody thing don't strangle it!' Think of your rod as an extension of yourself and how you like to be handled, you'll have a smooth frictionless action in no time! LOL, J.
