My first two rainbows after more than two years out of fly fishing. My old fishing mate passed away more than two years back, and I lost the will to go fly fishing completely...after much badgering from my wife and his wife, I picked up the rods again. Went to Brick Farm last week on a two fish ticket....five casts, hooked three fish, lost one and landed these two. They might not be big fish, but they are very special fish.

Funny you should say that ryanol...the top one roared around the lake for what seemed like ages, and spent a lot of time airbourne. The bigger of the two plodded about like a big old carp does, then just gave up and came in quietly.
Size doesn't matter then....?

I just hope you have got your appetite for fishing back. It is such a great pastime for so many different reasons.

Thank you all for the replies....yes, the old feelings have returned and I'm almost chomping at the bit again. It's not the same, not having my old childhood mate complaining because I left the flask in the car , or his landing net somehow got left in the lodge but it's great to be out there again and actually wanting to go fishing again. I have a pass for an early morning session this coming Sunday. The mighty 'er indoors says I can go fishing all day provided I'm home by ten o clock in the morning......
