Here are a few shots of the East Lothian Tyne. Hope you enjoy, apologies for the gratuitous 'fish shot'! The upper river a week ago. Taken a month or so ago, just above the tide, the fish pass is in the foreground. Further up the river again. A 14" brownie, taken on dry olive a few weeks ago. Not the Tyne, but Whiteadder Reservoir, all wild browns. A little bit of Sutherland in East Lothian.

Cracking photos Dunbar and a lovely brownie. I've got myself set up for getting back to river fishing this year so would like to try the Tyne out. Where do I get a day ticket from? Is it Haddington somewhere?
Cheers

Nice brownie Dunbar. How does the Whiteadder fish these days? I've not been up since Scottish Water sold it. If I'm up that way now, I'm usually just passing by on the way to the Watch.

Whiteadder is about half way between Gifford and Duns on the B6355 - you can't miss it. It isn't stocked any more so pretty much wild fishing if you like that sort of thing. Quite high up so doesn't tend to warm up till end April. As Bruce Sandison says, fish are 3 to the pound but there are enough pounders and so on to make the fishing interesting, if size matters. Thankfully, the new managers are Borders Council and not some fly-by-night commercial operation, so it's pretty much as before - £8 day with tickets from the machine below the dam.

Tweedcast - nice one. So I surmise you were plumbing the depths with a wetcel 2 then? I fished Mertoun recently (for trouts) and it has some nice water. Off to Iceland shortly?
