Today on the marvellous Monnow. Yes I know we're supposed to leave them alone until mid June but I was after trout..... really..... and he was so beautiful - look at that dorsal For those interested in fishing for his mates and his equally beautiful cousins Messrs Brown Trout et al in truly lovely surroundings. Nice fish mate. It looks very spring like there. Cheers rrw35 V. pleased with him. Today was the first bit of sunshine in ages but like everywhere else, Spring is very late. No daffs out yet - keeps the tourists away ;D - about 10-14 days late. It'll be interesting to see what/if it has any impact on Mayfly hatches. Others on here may have a better view on this though - he said hopefully

Nice grayling! You will probably be right about the mayfly - I would reckon that the Monnow hatch will be about a week late unless we get a very warm spring.
