Great to see some real fish out of Loch Awe (ie. not stockies). Cracking tail on that first fish.

Hi All Thanks for the replies, Donald and i left at 4.30pm we had 4 fish to the boat and had four more offers. When we went in for lunch the scores on the doors were
Robert Fullerton - 3 Tom Taggart- 3 Davy McAllister - 2 myself -1 Donald Forbes - 0 Jane Wright - 0
I never heard how they all ended up as we left a bit early i was going to work at ten that night. As for tatics, wet 2s and di-3s with black and green & black and red in the shallower water around the islands and bays on the north shore . All fish were returned alive as most of the guys usually do unless it is a outing where you have to weigh in . I only kill fish on two days of the season on Loch Awe and i hate doing that, i just wish they could do it on a honesty policy like we do for the opening day Quiach. Whats the point of winning something if you have to cheat !!

Nice fish the only thing that bothers me is you say you would put all your fish back! good for you but I enjoy a lovely wild brownie for my dinner. Catch and release should only be carried out if your not eating the fish you catch is that not how it should be...... If they are in good condition and you've no fish in the freezer take them home. Laying fish down on a seat to take a photo is'nt too healthy for the trout.....shouldn't they be released without touching them?

Point taken , your right doods, about the photo and handling the fish i tried to wet the seat and my hands. I took the pics for the forum to share with the members who might not have got the chance to get out yesterday, i normally unhook the fish in the water. I just choose to return wild brownies if i can , you choose to eat them, its horses for courses mate Campbell
