Hi,
I am going on a world tour soon and have been in the process of getting a bit of kit together for the journey. I have my spinningrod, my travel 7 weight rod flies reels etc. I wanted to take my shorty 7' 5 weight rod, but it was too big to go in the bag so have sold it and am now looking for a 4/5 weight rod that breaks down small enough to travel. Does anyone have any suggestions as to budget model, or does anyone have one they want to sell. I would prefer one that is not too long so no longer than 8'6" and with a fairly forgiving action as it is used on overgrown rivers where I don't so much as cast as flick the line out. Can anyone suggest a model that they have used and found to be good?

I got myself a Cortland 8' 6" #5 six piece rod in a tube from Hughie O'Reilly - www.oreillysfishing.co.ukPacks down very small and lives in the boot of the car. Casts ok too....

I have the same rod as guinea and it is ideal for getting in the backpack or small case.
The action is quite forgiving and fine for small streams and rivers. The price from Hughie is reasonable too at around £120.
