Hi Nick, More coverage of all internationals is required and it needs someone who knows about fishing to do it, not russel as he does not know much about fishing at all. Go for it or if you want to pay me I will come over and help the Scottish oops I mean the english do thier article Anyways troutmasters as everyone on here is doing a wee bit of boasting heres mine, I have won it and I have been third overall Nightmare of a trophy to get home, dont know how many times that fragile little rod has been broken ?? Thanks for the offer Dave but I am sure the England management wouldnt relish the thought of one of the "auld enemy" coaching the National Team, on second thought Martin O'Neill has been linked to Svens job so stranger things do happen. Your match fishing pedigree is one I can only wish to aspire to, not only Troutmasters but a Brown Bowl winner and caps in River and Loch Style..............I have a long way to go yet and no, I am not being sarcastic (aka Dog) these is genuine respect. I will have a look at the International article/feature, now dont go pinching the idea for TFF will you ! Hope to have the pleasure of a day together in the not too distant future. Cheers Nick

Dog, I recently asked NickH for a copy of his presentation that he does at flyfishing shows.......he was more than happy to send me a copy, I have been to 3 of Davers flytying nights and they were excellent, I cant say that I know these guys well, but what i can say is that they have been very helpful when you ask them for information on techniques patterns etc...... I find it sad that you feel you have to run their contribution to this forum down........
could not help biting at your well presented Blob.......

Dog, as I have said before on this forum on other issues.... if someone cant say something good or in support of someone/thing, then dont say anything. I am all for free speech and constructive criticism but petty slagging is childish. I havent met Nick, but I was at Davers tying night at my local FDG on tuesday and he most most forthcoming with info and ideas. he also said to get in touch if i required any other info anytime. Dont take this personally ;D Wullie

I would also say that both Nick and Dave have replied promptly to PM's of mine in the past around patterns and tying and I think we should encourage them to be so forthcoming.
It's great to have a bit of banter, too, but in the end they both deserve respect for what they've achieved.

It's the big 'I AM' that gets me.

Dog You obviously dont know me or Dave, that is blatantly obvious. I certainly dont consider myself the big "I Am" to quote your words, you couldnt be further from the truth, nor do I hide behind an anonymous handle. I can only suspect that the green eyed monster is peering at us , if you cant be constructive (which absolutely none of your posts on this thread have been) I suggest you refrain from posting as you are making a fool of yourself. You know best eh Nick? Where did I ever mention anything about Daver? I think you will find that I didn't.
It is merely the way you come on this forum listing your incredible achievements and going out of your way to hammer home the fact that you have actually got an International this year. Your craving of continuous praise? It is tiresome, and I do not regard it as constructive either.
You are entitled to your opinion, I am entitled to mine. Jealousy - no.
Keep up the good work.

No Dog, I dont know best, I merely try to spread my enthusiasm for the sport to anyone who may be interested. I have for quite some time spent a lot of time coaching anglers (two of my "charges" qualified for the England Youth team this year) free of charge. I donate tackle and guided fishing free of charge to worthy causes (check out the WTT auction in March). I do not try to sell my own branded or distribute tackle so its not like I have commercial interest in the sport, I honestly take great pleasure in being in the company of & if possible helping anglers get more out of the sport, so what am I doing wrong in your opinion.
You dont have to listen to my opinions,(indeed I have purposely refrained from expressing them on many occasions due to the obvious "have a go at the well known angler" mentality) but the forum would be a pretty dull place to visit if no-one expressed any views.
To that end I respect your impression of me which has been gleaned from a few very small posts on here, you are entitled to your opinion. The very fact that you dont know me as a person is also reflected in your opinion.
"Incredible" achievements , you dont know the half of it, nor will I be telling you.
As far as craving praise is concerned, one of the (few) things I like about the forum is that people can & do express their honest opinions, if people like you they say so, & vice versa, like I say , you have your opinion.
I use the forum as a source of information and sometimes entertainment and despite the obvious negativity of some posters, the general population seems to be well balanced and I have learnt a great many tips from here.
This is my last post on the subject so you are free to have the last word...............enjoy, but I would say engage your brain before starting tapping the keyboard.
Nick

I have met Nick a few times mainly in comps and as we are from the same part of the country tend to bump into him and Nigel in qualifying rounds and found then both to be pleasant and helpful and I have on some occasions been helpful to them. what i will say is that he is a good fisherman and the time I remember seeing him at his best was not long ago when he arrived in Dickinson's a little late after a few of us had bagged up and I was in with one of his team mates Andrew and there was not much happening as the fish were going off fast he went in tight to the bank fished static on the bung and did get his fish when people that were there before him still didn't get theirs.
Yes he has wrote some articles about comps and how he has found them which gave most of the info on how he did it but he didn't have to tell how he did it and that would have been no help to anyone, he has shared that info and good on him like we should all do. I do the same to anyone who asks and even offered my rod with flies attached to Andrew that day and thats how it should be even though he declined, if we all have that attitude then comps would be better attended and fishing in general would improve.
I have been to every troutmasters final since pitsford and no doubt will see Nick there again this year practicing to get the results that have been well deserved so stop knocking him and learn and share info and you might not be so jealous in future.
