Even the someone north of the border is lowering themselves joining in this thread.
Shame on you! I think your scottish mates should knock that chip off your shoulder!
Can't see the point in wasting any more time with you lot on this subject!

He is a very talented angler - no doubt. No chip on my shoulder at the moment, just couldn't help myself with my little observation!
Fatbloke, rest assured, I will try to stop letting my country down - I am sure all of Wales would be disappointed, devastated even, if they knew I had written such a terrible thing. (Dyflies - sarcasm).

Osprey, You are a cheeky t**t The "kid" graduated from Durham University 5 years ago with a first class Honours Degree in Biology. For his Thesis he studied the behaviour of rainbow trout in large stillwaters. Perhaps this is why he knows how to fish and how to catch them and how he is progressing so well through the ranks.
ps He definitely does not work in Burger King as you suggested.

The thread was to discuss press coverage not power a good angler into the deck. There must be a few green eyed monsters out there. That degree sounds pretty impressive all the same, I doubt he used Loch Leven for research matter.LOL

I thought the wink on my post would have given away my comments were in jest, thats an impressive education, well done and good luck to the man.

Nobody disputes he is a top angler - one of the best there is. That eduaction is pretty sound too. Chill out guys. Nobody is powering anybody into the deck here. Point being, if his team had won a big comp, then there would have been a big spread - I think this is what we were getting at - a Scottish team win, and I wonder if there will be much coverage / reporting at all? OK? Gerrit?

OK? Gerrit? I was not going to bother commenting further on this thread as it seemed to be going to the dogs (no pun intended) The point I made earlier in this thread is Mickey mouse could be in the team and it still wouldn't get coverage. It's not a case of who is in the team or where they come from. Competition anglers are in the minority of fly fishermen subsequently the larger group will not buy magazines that are full of spreads on competition. So what you goanna do. Publicity is a commodity that is for sale if everyone fished comps you would have publishers tripping over themselves to get spreads on the competitions. Sadly this is not the case, all competition anglers can do is support each other regardless of where your personal allegiances lie. ;D
