Hi, This might seem a silly question, but how do you get to fish for your country? For me, that would be Ireland... Do you get to choose wether you fish stillwater or river?

Brennan your local waters should be able to put you in contact with the organizers of your area eliminators. Once you get passed that satge IM sure there will be more heats untill you are selected for the team. Providing you got passed all the heats. They do the eliminators for rivers and Loch style. That is how it works over here. Hope this helps.

Be prepared to fish Erne,Melvin,Mask,Corrib,Conn,Arrow and any number of the big Loughs. It is a long process to get selected i know that a few of the lads from my club go to the qualifiers every year ,i will be making my first trip next season.

You need to do qualifiers for the rivers aswell. Not to sure what rivers that would be but yes the process is the same.

Hi everyone, thanks for the advice. Ok, I know that i have to fish quailifiers but no one seems to know which ones. I've been told to ask my local club but they don't know. Where do I go from here?
Thanks, brennan

first of all Brendan you must be a member of a club affiliated t.a.f.f.i or i.t.f.f.a. each club are given a number of places to fish the province qualifier, then on to interprovincial or national competition from there you make the irish team
