I bought a 7/8 sage xp, from Sportfish as I wanted a rod that would give me more distant on Reservoirs and I could occasionally saltwater.
I'm planning a Cuba trip later this year and ........
A) I'm guessing tackle is hard to get if something breaks so should I get a cheaper spare rod?
B) Is the Sage a bit pricey for saltwater, will I damage it?
C)Should I take spare lines and reels too?
D)I've seen Grey GRX salt rodfor £90. Good rod?
Any help would be great.

The XP is a PERFECT bonefish rod. If you break its covered under warranty. However Sportfish also rent Sage rods so you don't have to buy a backup if you don't want to. Loads of cheaper alternatives, TFO, Redington, Echo etc. In fact I'm selling a TFO Professional 9wt on ebay now Make sure your backup rod can cast the lines you are taking. An 8wt is perfect for bones, small mangrove tarpon and reef critters. Take spare lines to.
