This report is a bit overdue but I only just received the pictures Diamond Dave made during that particular fishing in Naples bay last year. On that day the masterplan was to take the flats boat into Naples bay and fish the mangrove shoreline during outgoing tide. The plan went fine untill we reached the mangroves, then the downpour came and our plans where washed away. When it stopped raining the sun was gone and so was the light. We could not see the mangrove roots aka snook hotels anymore so we decided to fish the docks in residential canals near the bay. Snook from beneath the docks. There where quite a few good docks in the Port Royal neighbourhood where the lights in the water attracted small baitfish and shrimp. The predators homed in on these snack, the Snook and Jacks where stacked up at the docks. A picture I took on an earlier trip of a "good" dock, Snook everywhere. Snook from the lights. The fishing was good on the outgoing tide. We would drift by the docks and tossed our flies under or close to the pilings. I used a little white bunny strip fly that was very well liked by the Snook. I wish I could do that kind of tropical fishing more often
