Hi All, I'm determined to break my duck this Sunday evening/ night. I was looking for a change from my usual mark at Poole . Its one of those Bass only marks so I'm looking for a venue onthe Dorset coast that may throw up some scad , mackerel , pollock as well as the chance of Bass. I considered the Fleet at Weymouth , but am unsure of the best tide to fish here. Any other suggestions to prevent me posting on the classifieds Martin

Martin - what about the Lulworth area, Kimmeridge and Durdle Dor(sp?) - plenty of coast line and although I don't know the exact locations I do know that area hols all sorts of fish.
Good luck

Thanks Gilo, Ive fished Kimmeridge a few times with bait and had a couple of goes with the fly last autumn. I know it has a good reputation for fly fishing , but I wasnt that impressed when I was there. I might give Durdle Dor a go. If nothing else I can report back to the rest of you. I know theres lots of small pout, rockling , blenny etc so theoretically some bigger predators.

Kimmo might be worth a bash. High tide is around nightfall, so there's a chance on the fly almost anywhere around the rocks, with plenty of time for a low tide recce. Plus they shouldn't be firing over the weekend, so you can try around Charnel and Broad Bench (a short trudge from the car park). NB: use floating lines - it's pretty gnarly under the surface.

Thanks Nigel. Do you know whether they lock the gates at night? I'm not that bothered but the wife wants the car to go to work the next day ;D

Certainly not! I only go when there's noone on the gate. It saves two quid!
