Can anyone recomend a website that covers the very basics of fly tying e.g. basic hackles, dubbing, and step by step instructions for basic patterns?
Thanks.

I found this site really useful as an absolute beginner. www.sexyloops.com/flytying/index.shtmlOk you need to read ten pages before you get to the first fly but I found it to be very useful. It expalined an awful lot of very basic things and by the time you get to page ten you tie the pheasant tailed nymph. Belive it or not these things catch fish. Even the scruffy mis-shapen efforts I tied in my first attempt. Give it a look and let us know what you think.

This one is improving! have a look at the step by steps, I'm sure if there is anything you want to know post a request on their and one of the talented b*ggers will do some magic with thread, metal and feather to demonstrate. Sadly I'm not one of the talented few and tie badly!

Thanks for all the replies! I'll look through them all over the weekend, and next week I'll be wiser.
Thanks again.
