anyone got a dressing for the katie ross - i have searched the web and been through all the usual suspects in fly dressing books - its often recommended for the northern lochs but i have never seen one - is it a peter ross /kate mclaren fusion? a picture woudl be nice too.
thanks

New one to me. Know of a Willie Ross which is a Heather Fly imitation colouration similar to Bibio. For those that are interested Dressing: Hook: 12-10 Thread: black Tail : Golden Pheasant tippets Body: black floss ribbed with silver wire Hackle: black hen with slightly longer dyed red hen in front. A good pattern when Heather Flies get blown on to the loch. I remember a day on Loyal when this happend & the Willie Ross accounted for most of a 15 fish bag that day. First time I had seen the fly & I keep a few sizes in my box now. Tight Lines

bit of an odd one this - the katie ross is mentioned by stan headley in books and articles but it doesnt appear in the photographs or descriptions in those books. The half hog definitely looks peter ross body wise - the rest is a bit unclear

Was this the fly first tied by a Findhorn gillies daughter? I remember reading about it in one of the monthly's a while back? I'll have a look to see if i can find it.
