Hi All I fancy having a go at some Crayfish patterns. Does anyone know which way a trout would generally swallow a crayfish - tail first or head first. I would think this would determine which way one would start tying. That is - is the bend of the hook at the tail end or the head end.
Anybody got any patterns.
Cheers
Steve

There may be 'exceptions,' but 99% of crayfish patterns have the eye/pincers at the bend of the hook. Reason being is these fellows, and the like, swim backwards trailing their claws.
