I have been given some of these beads, unweighted and a hole in the middle. If exposed to light for some time they retain the light up to about 3 hours or more.
Question---- has any one come across them before and what fly would you tye using them.

I know someone that is in the process of experimenting with this type of bead and so far it seems they work decently in twilight/night conditions.

i've been using lumi beads for a few years,great for late summer evenings and for night fishing,i also think that they work in coloured water i make damsels and tadpoles with them.

They would make for great nymphs and chironomids / buzzers. I have been playing around with glow / lumo flies for the last few months with some steller results. Try replacing bead heads on nymphs with the lumo beads.
