Hi guys, just wondering if any of you have fished the above lately?
How did it go? What size fish? What you used?
The weathers very cold lately and I was wondering whether to pay a visit next week.
Many thanks.T

Ok, last time i fished it was about 3-4 weeks ago, everyone caught- i had 2, di-7's and black boobies, also had follows of sparkler boobies, hooked fish on fry immitations and a follow of some very large fish, biggest fish was 4lb 14 oz, all over 2 1/2 lb , prices for boats have been dropped to a fiver for the day i think, not sure though, fish were also caught in the surface layers but you had to be in the right spot at the right time, Top end is where we caught even though reports had said the dam was fishing well, Hope this enough Good luck and dotn forget to tell us how you got on! Yeah meeting up should be good welshy, I live in Pontypridd, I mostly fish the Usk or Cantref but thought I'd pay Llys y fran a visit (first time back in september) it went well and I seemed to be the only one catching (I think the locals got abit miffed). Now I wanna go again, I was impressed with the good quaility fish, a good size and great looking.
I may go end of this week or start of next, though Im not quite sure when fishing stops.
I'm gonna get a season ticket on the river Towe (swansea) next year, which Im really looking forward too. cheers T

Hi Binky - Llys-Y-Fran will be fine if you get yourself on the point by the cages. Whack out a long DI 7 with a black booby and maybe an orange booby on there. I know a couple of guys who have been fishing it, and this has been the way to go. It would be where I would start and the set-up I would use to begin with.
If that doesn't cough up a few fish, then make your way 'up the top'. The point where the bird hut is - always worth fishing on or around there - and further up again. Sometimes as far up as you can go - by the bouys - will hold lots of fish.
Joining the Tawe is a smart move. I love that river. Get in touch nearer the time of the season, and I might be able to point you in the right direction - I have fished it for twenty years now, so know a few spots. It is a good river.

Binky - you might want to check your dates. I'm not certain, but I think that the season down there ends on Sunday? Just check it out before heading down.
