Way back in November 1999 Jon Beer wrote an article for the web site Fish & Fly titled "Cheap Fishing". He refers to the Afon Clywedog near Llanidloes as giving him his best fish of the season. I am often in the vicinity of this little river and would like to give it a try. Has anyone fished this river before and if so any luck

Hi Springwell.
I live close to the river, I would not say it is fantastic fishing, but worth a go, becarefull in case they are letting water out of the dam, a couple of yeears a go there were grayling around the caravan park, but the owners say they havn't seen any for some time now, but don't be put off give it a go, nice place to be.

Thanks Sage
I have a caravan on the park, the owner tells me grayling are seen at the end of the season and also VERY occasionally salmon.
There never seems to be enough water in the river, south from the caravan site to the Severn looks interesting.

Hi Springwell.
The Severn does look nice around Llanidloes, but the local wormers have take most of the fish, you do get the odd one here and there, you will have to come down to Caersws, I was talking to some one off your caravan park down here the end of last summer, it wasn't you was it?

Hello Sage
Not me last year, I fish Llyn Clywedog a lot but was looking to catch some small wild brownies and thought the Afon Clywedog may have some.

Hi Springwell.
I take people to remote mountain lakes for wild browns, there are plenty of them about, also some nice rivers around your caravan.

Thanks Sage
The lakes sound interesting, I know of one never fished it, need to do some homework now to find out about them.
