Has anyone flyfished this water? It's only £22 to join for a year.
It seems to be a coarse fishing club and the river is in close season at the moment. I walked the bank a couple of weeks ago but the river was too high to fish. There is about 1 mile of single bank fishing, close to Grimsargh.
I know Underwood has joined the club having read one of his post's,but don't know if he has had any luck yet.
Any advise on this would be appreciated.
Thanks Gazmeister.

Hi,
I coarsed fish Wigan AA´s waters on the Ribble for many years. They had several stretches on the Ribble, quite a few miles in all, I assume they still have most of them. I saw a couple of blokes flyfishing the stretch near Red Scar Wood and catching lots of good chub. I also had the odd brown by accident when bait fishing, as well as a couple of grayling. Most of the stretches had some nice streamy runs which were never coarse fished ( too shallow). I ocassionally used to hear the odd huge fish clearing the water, probably salmon or sea trout. Most fish which are running the Ribble will have to pass through these stretches so they should be worth a go for migratory fish. For 22 Quid a year I reckon it´s worth a go - if nothing else you´ll have miles of river to yourself before the coarse season starts in June.
