Hi, Can anyone recommend a stretch of river in North West. I have fished the ribble in Mitton but would like to fish Hodder or Lune etc. Anyone know ho I can become a member of a local river club.
I'm in Standish near Wigan. Need some salmon fishing this year aswell, also in North west. I suppose I'm looking at all public water. Thanks. Tom

Tom Hi Tom, You may not realise how fortunate you are to live in the NW, but you are close (ish) to a wealth of fly fishing... If you have a car so much the better... You have the rivers of North Wales, Lake District, Yorkshire Dales and Derbyshire Peak District all within an hour or so's drive, as well as a good number of smaller 'unsung' rivers and streams just waiting to be discovered. I have sent you a Personal Message - take a look at my website for some ideas. Cheers, JT

The Prince Albert have a website (Google for exact address) with all the deatils.
Currently £85.00 per year but I think also a joining fee.

Prince Albert Angling Society www.paas.co.ukI've been a member for four or five years after having waited the usual 3 years or so for membership. Before being inducted one is summoned to Macclesfield, of all places, to be spoken at in a most patronising fashion by members of the committee, most of whom seem to have been in office since the Prince himself was a lad! Having said that £85.00 a year for the masses of water the society has is incredible value.

He is quite simply one of the best river anglers this country has to offer. If you have a few quid going spare, a few hours spent with him would be money well spent indeed! Matt
