Alright mate. The rivers dropped a bit since yesterday. Fished it a couple of weeks back and got a couple of out of season browns. From what ive been hearing the Grayling have really taken a tumble since last year. Brownies are coming on strong still though Cheers Smudge

I went down yesterday to wet a line. I thought that the river would be down but it was back up like. All the stone Islands where covered up like. I had a go anyways but ended up with nowt like. The waters done a hell of alot of work on the river bed aswell. I was down 2 weeks ago and the spot i was fishing was easily wadeable. Went down yesterday and the same spot dropped to about 5ft deep were it was just 3ft before. Anyways caught no fish and to add to that it started snowing

I tried it at Page Bank last Thursday - it was clearing then but much higher than I thought. Didn@t realise how much water was coming through until i tried to get out _ took me ten minutes to get out onto the baac bank! levels looked about the same today in durham so it will probably be about thursday before its fishable as long as theres no more rain or snow

If either of you chaps are interested - or anyone else for that matter - Dave Downie (Daver of this forum) will be visiting Durham Flyfishers this Thursday evening, 8pm at Meadowfield British Legion. Dave will be tying some flies and will have his range of fly tying materials for sale. I'm sure it will be well worth the modest admission fee of £2 and we can assure you of a warm welcome.
