On the recomendation of a few here on the board I gave FMTC a small order. They notified by E Mail that they had received it along with online payment. Three weeks later & still no goods. An E mail goes unanswered. Only for a few pounds, just to try them out but hardly a good start. Anyone else waiting? Tight Lines

i have bought from them often and not had many problems, mark has always replied to emails and goods have arrived when he said they would - somemtimes had to wait a couple of weeks but he has phoned to tell me that and ask if i want to continue with the order- i have been happy with the service. When a line i ordered was out of stock he couriered an alternative to my lodgings overnight so that i would have line to fish with - good servcie in my book.

One of the problems tackle shops face is that if they themselves don't have a particular product in stock they are at the mercy of the tackle companies, and not all of them are prompt with delivery. We have often ended up with things on backorder for weeks even months at a time! I can't help but think that some of the so called "tackle giants" have too many things to offer and fall short on reliability because they are having to chase down their products from all over the globe, whereas the smaller, quality manufacturers and tackle companies have less of a selection but their order process is much more reliable. Greys are one of these quality companies. We have an account with them and so far (touch wood) they have been 100% reliable with a lightning turnaround, if a customer wanted a particular product that we haven't in stock at that time, we can phone greys and it will be sent in that days post. Can't ask for more than that really.
If there is a problem then it should be a simple matter for the customer to be contacted and offered the chance to cancel or keep the order rather than be kept in the dark and waiting for weeks on end, ok, you may lose that order, but you will keep the customers good will all being well, which in the long run is better for all. Not answering email questions about orders smacks of avoiding the issue of availabilty of stock and is rude to boot.

This was last week and still no arrival yet. Hope i dont have long delay.

I used to order quite a bit from FMTC, but my last order they messed up.
I've got no problem with items on back order or the fact that some problems may occur during the order.
What I do have a problem with is a lack of communication. Unanswered emails, promised phone calls never being made, it's just not on.
I know I should give second chances, but the problem spand nearly 4 weeks, and all the of the communications (via email and phone) were iniated by me. It takes 2 minutes to phone a customer update them of issue and either cancel the out-of-stock item or place the item on order. I wasn't made aware of any problem until I had rung them after a week and a half of waiting.
After nearly 4 weeks I requested my order be cancelled. I'll never use them again personally.
From now on I'll always order from John Norris, Sportsmail, or Orvis. Awesome service.....sorry, I mean 'actual' service!

I do not have any truck with FMTC. I gave them an order for a few spools of Uni thread & a few bits & bobs. £10 tops.To date, over three weeks I have not received any goods, my one E mail goes unanswered. No big deal, but what I will say is I will not use them again.
Once bitten twice shy.......life goes on. Tight lines

Hi Guys,
I have used FMTC several time always very helpful ! recently phoned them to purchase a fly for my so rod for my son , they recommended the new Greys GRXI, sounded like a good deal , included were some free lines & a reel ,agreed the transaction gave them my card details , followed up several days later and asked where my order was as i wanted to take my son out for a days fishing, was told then, item was out of stock , they did not know when it would be available , when i explained that when i placed the order i was under the impression that the item was xstock , i was aked what i wanted to do , as they could not confirm a delivery date i asked to cancel , they assured me that the order was cancelled and promply slammed down the phone after telling me this , never mind sorry , so much for customer service, last time i will be going there.............
