Evening All,
Had an enjoyable cast on on the Tay today up at Findynate. Also got to see lots of happy rafters...dozens of them. So happy they were, splashing eachother with their paddles...they were really enjoying themselves - and looking at me like I was some kind of early 1950's alien character!!
30 rafts passed me between 3:30pm and 4:00pm!
Some of these feeing paying crews appeared to be instructed to lift paddles and hold them up. Is this normal practise? Or is that done as an effort to appease the "angry angler"? I accept it as couteous behaviour and a good effort on the part of the guide.
Some of the crews though were deliberately and quite OTT with their paddling, really frothing the water up and looking for a reaction!! That just makes me want to mount my shoulder launched rocket and blow those fools right out of the water!!
I spent money on the fishing which was arguably ruined, and the rafters are not licensed to use the river and are unburdened in anyway except for liability insurance I suspect! How very profitable for them!!
Should Rafting be licensed? Sounds like a legal quag mire in the making to me!!
