No need for 'Sea Trout Fishing' - we already have two dedicated forums for that!

Shouldn't "Tackle Talk" be in "Marketplace" also. Surely it is a sort of review of the tackle we could or have buy/bought on the market?

No need for 'Sea Trout Fishing' - we already have two dedicated forums for that! I don't think that we, on this forum, should refrain from discussing a subject merely because it is discussed elsewhere...... and anyway, you can never get too much of sea trout fishing!

As in the above, I would omit the coarse fishing section, which can be covered in General Fly Fishing and I would replace it with Sea Trout Fishing, in which I am sure there will be great interest. Please don't ommit the course fishing section as this gives very usefull imfo. into a growing facet of our sport and covers multiple species, where salmon and sea trout only cover two, which are justified in their own right as well founded target species, but lets give the pike, perch and others as much air time as they are as just a noble quarry. LOL, J.

Kind of agree with John Gray, Sewinbasher and Ben Wynde - don't mind which way we go so long as we consolidate a few folders.
I work on the rule of thumb that the more folders we have the more diluted the power of the forum (i.e. the less people will view and respond to any request for help / info).
I would deviate from the norm here by suggesting we actually add one folder or area of functionality. A folder for links - to other forums, online shops, fisheries and general resources (tide charts etc). This would save on the continuous requests for the same old stuff.

I'll second that. I tend to agree with Sewinman regarding Salmon and Seatrout but if there is a demand then no problem. I also agree that coarse fish should be covered so perhaps we could have a forum entitled "Species Specific" or words to that effect. This would cover the lot from Dace to Marlin. I think Saltwater Flyfishing should be kept as it covers a variety topics of a more general nature for what is a specialised area. Whilst we are tidying up lets get rid of the useless and space wasting Admin Only. Dave.

I think that there are definitely too many categories but it's difficult to see which should be amalgamated into others. Destination Fly Fishing and Admin should go. also Last Minute whatever. I would incorporate Salmon Fishing into General but can see why people would not want that. Perhaps those least used in terms of visits should be the ones to be moved? p.s. An "English Grammar for Dummies" category? Now there's an idea!

On an unrelated note, should the phrase "anal retentive" be two separate words or should it be hyphenated?
No idea what made me think of this.

Possibly because you got rejected from the Mongolians in Minnesota Learning English Spelling Bee when you were six.
