Staying up nextdoor to his place next July, popped in to see him while FF for Pike in Ardnasillagh bay, which can be quite tretcherous. Great guy and great boatman/guide. His Business seems be growing, well deserved. J.

Basil is meant to be the guide to get if you ever want to lean where the duck fly holes are and more importantly what ones are fishing. I have never fished with him personally but I know a few that stay and fish with him and they swoon over his duck fly knowledge. I think he wrote a book on it (no pun intended),but I have an article from a magazine somewhere where he writes about duckfly fishing, i will try to dig it up, if needed. Better yet he has a 15hp engine on his "Rock Hopper" so within reason there's few parts of the lake he cant reach
