I am planning a 1st time Salmon fishing trip to Scotland in June.
Can anyone advise on good (reasonably priced) accommodation. I would rather spend my money on the fishing !!
Also any general advise for the 1st timer in Scotland would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Andrew.

There is reasonably priced accomodation in Scotland.
So that we may assist you, which area of Scotland were you planning to fish?

Employ a local/ghillie. Learn the river, it takes time, but it will give you the rewards you seek.

Hi Sagefly.
The North or South Esks are looking like a very good option.
Any other suggestions welcome.
Cheers,
Andrew.

A couple of years ago I have spent some time in Scotland. East of Aviemore is a nice campingsite, with acceptable pricing, it's in a great scenery as a bonus. We fisher at Grantown on Spey, a 30 minute drive. Another option is Aberfeldy caravan park, in the heart of Scotland, good food at the Blach Watch Inn, and some good fishing in the rivers Tay and Tummel within a short range.... Cheers, and have a good time.... Hans.

The Spey is just beautiful to fish with the fly. You also have good sea-trout and trout if the salmon are'nt playing.

Buzzer, where are you based some great fishing in the Borders, Tweed. Till, Ettrick. Nith etc All depends on when you aree planning to go, October - November is the prime for most of the Southern Scottish rivers, furtehr north the earlier it gets. This makes a big difference to the price as well! Check www.fishscotland.co.uk
