Hi.
Depends on who you go to, but about £20+ per hour, I was quoted £45 per hour and i'm qualified already !!!! no trade discount then I thought ???just wanted to brush up on things and make sure nothing bad was creeping in to my casting, I went some where else.

You pay peanuts, you get monkeys teaching you. You may pay top dollar for an APGAI, but that person has been assessed to a high standard to instruct others. If you pay less, to some "well meaning" or unqualified individual, you are doing yourself a disservice. "Aye mate, that lines supposed to catch like that on the forward cast, keep practicing that stuff i showed you...i'll be back from Tesco in about 15 minutes". "Thats a tenner ya owe me, when do you want the next lesson"?

Flyfisher100 in Belfast there are Tom McCutcheon( APGAI Uk. and Ireland) Pat Mulholland(APGAI Uk AND Ireland), near Belfast in Co Down are Gary Bell (APGAI UK and Ireland) and Dave Dowery APGAI Uk and probably the best) in Doagh is Roy Simpson (APGAI Uk and Ireland) in Carrickfergus is Joe Stitt (APGAI Masters Uk And APGAI Ireland) there are a few more around the North but probably out of range for travel my own preference would be dave Dowrey, I think they are all around £20/ £25 and as rrw35 says they are qualified at the highest level We pay £500 to £600 for a rod and then we think £25 is to much to pay to learn to use it --Good luck from JTB

From experience i would also suggest Davey Dowery or Gary Bell. Davey has his own casting pond beside his house, or he can meet you at an arranged location.

I hear Davey Dowry has an excellent reputation Probably one of the most elegant casters i've seen. Not a distance freak, just a very smooth, graceful caster. And like anybody at the top of their game, he makes it look easy... ;D More importantly, he's a good tutor.
