When casting, do you stop the line before it hits the water so it straightens out or do you let the line shoot out and let it land naturally on the water?

Hi Andy
In my case, it's much more of a controlled "slow down" than a stop - try letting the shooting line run over your open hand on the final delivery - you might lose a yard or two, but turnover and presentation should be much better.
Keep the rod stop high (roughly 10 o'clock) when you do this, then drift the rod down as the line falls to the water. This will allow time for the turnover to happen. With practice, all this will make sense.
Hope this helps ... Tony
