hi bought this line hardy trout shooting st 6/7#s it says on the box that the line is only 36.6ft in length can i attach this line straight to the backing if so how can this be done also do i fish this line like a standard fly line is a fast sinking line ta !!!!!!!!

You have to learn to be a bit more patient flyfisher100. At 36ft. it sounds like you have bought a shooting head. This has to be attached to a running line - either one that has been made especially for the purpose or to heavy mono (about 30Lb. BS) In use you strip off a load of the running line, false cast the flyline until it is all outside the tip ring and then shoot the running line. "ST", I believe, stands for "Single Taper". In other words, half a double tapered line. It would be used in the way Dave describes.
