hi campbell and the rest of the boys, how did you fare on the lake, ?i only touched two rainbow and landed both, frank blanked, we were disappointed to say the least, mind some boats were catching, but they were searching all over, just like the three of you campbell. we called it a day at 2.00 pm, quite a few were finishing early, very unusual for menteith. thewidowsson.

Hi Billy ,
We ended up with eleven for just over 22lb Don had 5 George had 4 and i had 2 we went in around 4.30 not our best opening day on the lake . I dont think there were many boat limits and 11 to the boat was well up there. The best boat i heard was Toshy and Keith i think they caught 19 but only kept a dozen. As you say it was a hard day and i tried all over i even tried dries then buzzers at one point the fish were up and looking, especially out at the wihite buoys and in the butts . Well thats fishing for you ,we would soon get fed up if it was to easy!!!!

Would have like a bit of a breeze, we struggled but saw a few fish caught, good show of fish around the buoys around 2 o'clock but they were hoovering the black buzzers and went down when some boats insisted on moving 20 or 30 yards using their engines. Etiquette has not improved. We only had 3 in the boat but boats were moving all day, not generally a good thing.

Tosh wouldn't keep that from us ;D Unfortunately I only saw him first thing when we arrived, so never had a chance to discuss. I think hard work and persistance was the key. I was there for a relaxing day Probably why I only had one offer.
